One of the easiest ways to live like a Parisian in Denver is to start eating desserts à la française.

Not to be confused with macaroons, macarons (pronounced like “macaroni” without the “i”) are the chic dessert in France, resembling miniature cookie sandwiches. With a popularity battling that of the cupcake in major American metropolises, boutique bakeries in France each offer their own take on the petite merengue and ganache confectionary.
