Coming Soon: J’adore! Focus On French-Language Cinema in Denver

The U.S. may have Hollywood, but France has Cannes.

Film making has been alive and well in France since the nouvelle vague and now it’s coming to Denver for a fantastique film festival called “J’adore.”

April 25 – 28, 2013

j'adorePresented by France’s major television station, TV5MONDE, in cooperation with Alliance Francaise de Denver, J’Adore! Focus on French-Language Cinema brings new and classic films from France, Quebec, Canada, Switzerland, and Belgium to the Sie FilmCenter for four days of screenings and special events.

I’ll be attending a good selection of the 12 films and coming back to you with my reviews so that even if you can’t attend these showings, you’ll be able to rent your favorites for some private screenings at home.

If you want to join me for some French-language cinema, you can get your full pass here for $60 or come to a single screening for $10.

I’m particularly excited about Thérèse, which showcases my favorite Audrey Tautou (star of Oscar-winning Amélie) in a Madame Bovary-esque role.

All films will be shown with English subtitles.
